Tickets are on sale now! The Importance of Being Earnest is a smash hit Oscar Wilde's outrageous comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest, is the Players latest success. People will be talking about the lovely set, the gorgeous costumes, the accomplished accents, the skillful direction, the masterful comic timing, and even Mother Nature's impromptu additions to the sound effects for a long time! Players' President Brian Tilbury makes a big announcement! It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Board of Directors of The Westmoreland Players has unanimously approved a contract with Glenn Evans to fill the full-time position of Artistic Director/Executive Producer for one year. As in the past, Joy Evans will be working in association with Glenn.
The main feature of this agreement is that the Artistic
Director/Executive Producer will direct two and produce five shows per
season. In addition, they will mentor the directors of other shows in
the season, offer theatrical workshops for members, work on increasing
the number of Patron donors and advertisers, and bring in guest
performers for short productions, among other goals.
One of the principal reasons your Board made this
agreement was to bring continuity and consistency to our directing and
producing efforts at a time when we are about to embark on the expansion
of our theatre and the programs we offer. In the past few years, The
Players has grown to become the major Community Theatre in a
multi-county region. We offer four main stage productions each season,
a children's drama camp, a youth holiday show, and special shows such as
the Black History Month event. We need to grow the quality of the
product that we offer to the community, while maintaining the essential
character of a volunteer-driven community theatre. We believe this
contract advances both those goals and maintains an appropriate balance.
With the continued professional guidance of the Evans',
we invite every member to join with us in building on The
Players enviable record by moving us ever onward and upward!

Coaching Day Coaching Day at Stratford Hall found a group of Westmoreland Players creating a memorable presence in the Tailgating Competition. The fourteen participants sported colonial costumes and powdered wigs as they dined in style at their elaborately decorated booth. The damp, cold and windy day did not deter the group from introducing the Players to hundreds of Coaching Day attendees. The Players were awarded a prize for being the "most humorous" tailgating group. Missoula Children's Workshop Details are Announced
