MCT Drama Camp Code of Conduct

To ensure that all students enrolled in this Drama Camp have a positive experience, we ask that parents/guardians read and discuss this Code of Conduct with your child(ren). If any of these guidelines raise questions, please do not hesitate to contact The Westmoreland Players.

The key word for our Code of Conduct is RESPECT. Students are expected to be mindful of messages they are sending with their words, bodies, and attitudes. Unkind, disrespectful, or distracting communication (either verbal or non-verbal) to fellow students or adults will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, respect for the building and its contents, the Westmoreland Players’ staff, the MCT directors, and the property of others.

Certain areas of the building are off limits to students. Students are not allowed in the office, the green room, the construction shop areas, or backstage unless given permission by an MCT or Westmoreland Players’ staff member. There is to be no loitering in any part of the building. Your main areas are the lobby, the auditorium, and the stage. The kitchen and bathrooms will be used only as designated by the MCT directors. If you have a need to use these facilities at times other than scheduled breaks, ask permission from an MCT director, and a Players’ staff member will accompany you.

The building was cleaned prior to MCT week. Food and drinks may be consumed in the lobby area only. (Water in closed containers is allowed in the auditorium.) It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure your trash is collected and put in the appropriate trash cans. If a spill occurs, see a Westmoreland Players’ staff member and arrangements will be made for clean-up. When you come each day, your lunch/snack bag should be placed in the kitchen. At the appropriate break time, you will be allowed into the kitchen to get your bag and take it to the lobby. At the end of break time, the bag should be returned to the kitchen until you leave for the day.

Good theatre is a collaborative effort of many individuals. It takes teamwork to have a successful production. Each person has a different role in this effort. Some of your friends may need additional time to memorize lines or execute instructions given by the MCT directors so that they can be ready for the next rehearsal. Please be aware of their need for quiet time; be polite and give them their space to work. Our goal is for everyone to have a fun, safe, theatrical experience, as well as to perform the best show ever!  Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
